3-1-21   THOUGHTS

The following verse is defining.  It says that we are in sin, abide in sin, unless we believe and obey the Son!  The sin of the WRONGFUL ABIDER brings the WRATH OF GOD with it.
John 3:36   "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."
Rom 1:18   For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
Rom 2:4-8   Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not  knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? 5  But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6  who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS: 7  to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; 8  but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation.
1Thes 1:10  and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, [that is] Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.

The ARK OF THE COVENANT was significant in old testament times.  One of the items in the ark was the tables of stone with the law on them.  Are you listening...  The law was in the box, but the lid, the covering where God met with man, between the cherubims, covered the law and the sin.  When the blood of the covenant and God’s presence was there, ATONEMENT occured!  It was above the Mercy Seat, in Hebrew, the kapporeth, that this happened.  See Leviticus 16.  Now if you do a study on the word kapporeth, you find that it becomes the root in Greek for the word  PROPITIATION..
Rom 3:25  whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed;
1John 2:2  and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
1John 4:10  In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

In Jesus, GOD’S WRATH IS PROPITIATED, it is taken care of.
In the song Before the Throne, we find the words “to look on Him and pardon me”!  There’s the idea.  I find all this very powerful my brothers and sisters.

My Prayer:
Help us Oh God to believe and obey.  Increase our wanting to be all in with you Oh God.  May we see your forever loving kindness, and respond as your dear children.  Your grace toward us is awesome Lord.  Help us to become as little children before you.  Thank you God that we can know these things and live in hope and love.       In the name of Jesus     Amen
